About the Soledad Unified School District Science Fair
|Each year the Soledad Unified School District holds a District Science Fair which gives students an opportunity to showcase their scientific skills. Students in kindergarten through second grade participate in a full class project that is put on display at the District Fair as a demonstration project. Third grade students learn the scientific process through either individual projects or through a class project. Students in fourth through eighth grade also learn the scientific process by selecting a science topic of their choice and conducting an experiment, keeping records, analyzing results, recording results, and finally creating a display. Students in grades nine through twelve either conduct an experiment that helps them to understand the scientific process or they have the opportunity to research a topic, write a research paper, and then create a display for presentation at the District Fair.
Grade 3-12 projects are judged and students receive awards including ribbons and Best of Show medallions.
